Students engage in learning through our fun spelling games made for young learners. Your child will battle monsters and race alligators to spell second-grade words. As your child plays their confidence grows and so does their spelling ability. Each of our second-grade lists are made to help students with spelling words that appear in other school subjects.
That is why our second-grade lists include words like cycle, community, and context. We want your child to be able to identify these words and spell them. Our second-grade spelling words are grouped by similar structure and include common words. These common words appear frequently in Level 2 books and reading proficiency tests.
Each of the games below can be played with any of our LoonyLearn spelling lists and lists you create yourself. Just select the list you want to learn then choose the game you want to play. Oh no! The spell-animals are out of their cages! Help the zoo keeper dorp the good and bad spell-animals back to their correct cages. In this game, the player is given a word and must decide if the word is correctly or incorrectly spelled.
There are two kinds of water spelloons, good spelloons and mis-spelloons. Pop all the good water spelloons and move on to the next level. In this game, the player is given six words and must select which of the words are correctly spelled. The player places the slingshot in front of the correctly spelled words to select them. Watch out! The mean pirates are getting close to shore. The player follows the ship with the canon and selects when to fire the canon to complete the word.
Minor bug fixes and improvements. I have been searching for a spelling app for my son that isn't "babyish". This one is perfect! Love the premade lists and the ability to make your own. It has lots of different games you can use to study the list of words. My son is an excellent reader but a horrible speller so I love that this one has so many options. I like that there is no distracting music or animation either. Most apps try too hard to make them "cute" instead of focusing on making the actual learning interesting.
This one succeeded in being interesting without all the unnecessary stuff. This spelling app was perfect for us. I write and record the list each week. The app has several different games your child can play using the list. I love that it gives data at the end of each game. Click here for details. Complete the Sentence with Correct Sight Word from..
