Slide 1. Slide 2. Slide 3. Email wintergames wtgf. Welcome to the 11 th World Transplant Winter Games. In memory of Nicholas Green, a young American boy who was killed in Italy and whose family donated his organs for the benefit of others, we are proud to offer this fully-supervised day camp as a separate event within the World Transplant Winter Games.
For over 40 years the World Transplant Games Federation has been staging international sporting events and promoting education around transplantation in order to promote the physical success of transplant surgery and the need to raise public awareness and increase organ donation.
Through our various initiatives we aim to highlight the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyle in the long term management and well being of transplant recipients. We achieve these objectives through the hosting of the The Summer and Winter World Transplant Games, along with Education platforms medical research, conferences and physical well being culture and a strong communications programme geared to network with medical professionals and engage the entire transplant community.
Without the help of our sponsors the World Transplant Games Federation would not be able to stage the Games. The following contributors have generously supported our activities over the years. Organ recipients from more than 52 countries are competing in the Games, aiming to prove the level of health and vitality that's possible after transplants.
Cindy Marshall said her daughter still has some challenges, but no one can tell Sarah was ever sick by looking at her. She "goes a mile a minute, and plays and runs and keeps up with everybody. The London medical team that works with pediatric transplant patients hope Sarah's story will help Canadians to understand the children need organs as much as adults do.
